Chess
1) Wired Article: Never thought I'd see Chess on Twitch. The ability to probe non-human decision making is obviously very broad - and still in it's infancy.
2) AlphaZero : While I found AlphaZero fascinating (from a CS/AI/ML perspective) - it is definitely opening new frontiers for players to integrate entirely new gameplay. Will be interesting to see if the next iteration of Grandmasters will be those who can successfully converge this new horizon vs. those who "simply" use the program for traditional training maneuvers.

Biology:
1) Israeli researchers growing mouse embryos in an "artificial womb." Rate limiting step appears to be oxygen delivery. In the absence of a placenta - would be interesting to see if they use some type of angiogenesis (VEGF) to artificially connect w/ some type of rudimentary bypass machines for oxygenation.
